Amar has over 20 years of experience predominately at Morgan Stanley across various divisions. Amar started his career in London in 1995 and has worked in India, Hungary and Hong Kong. His roles during this time covered Finance, Investment Banking, Risk Management and Corporate Services. Amar spent 4 years as COO for Morgan Stanley’s office in Hungary, where he focused on sustained growth of the office and promoted the brand locally to attract talent.
Between 2014 and 2017, Amar took the role of General Manager in Mumbai, India, and was responsible for the expansion Morgan Stanley’s Global Inhouse Centre (GIC), from 2,500 staff to over 5,500, including the set-up of a new office in Bangalore. During this time, he had oversight over GICs in Salt Lake City, Columbus, Baltimore, Glasgow and Budapest, covering 11,000 staff. Key focus areas included sustained growth, building resiliency, instilling a culture of trust and raising awareness of risk management practises.
From 2017 to 2019, Amar held the position of Managing Director in Hong Kong and was responsible for Corporate Services for Asia branch offices, covering 1.6M square foot of office space. His remit included property management, engineering, travel, security, corporate information management and vendor relationship management.
